AID+
AID.plus · Giving made easy · since 2015

More than a tip.

Want to say thank you? Then pass it on. With a donation to a Hamburg organisation that helps children, people with cancer, those in need and the homeless.

01 · The origin
2015

Making giving easy.

In the summer of 2015, Viktor J. Nachbauer and Benjamin Gutmann founded AID.plus with a clear mission: to rethink the way people donate in our digital society.

The idea was as simple as it was effective. When shopping online, you round up the total at checkout with a single click, by no more than 99 cents, and donate the difference. An interface connected the platform with the most common shop systems. Retailers displayed a seal to show that their customers were doing good along the way.

Many small amounts, no effort, no detours. Greater reach for aid projects through accessibility, transparency and fairness.

02 · Today

A platform becomes a mindset.

The platform from back then no longer exists. The conviction behind it remains: Helping should be easy. And it should reach those who need it.

As an entrepreneur, Viktor J. Nachbauer supports charitable organisations in and around Hamburg every year through his companies, with amounts ranging from a few hundred to several thousand euros. The focus is on children, cancer research, people in need and the homeless.

Today, AID.plus is an invitation to join in. Anyone who wants to thank him or his teams doesn't need to give a tip. A donation to one of these organisations is the best thank-you.

Frequently asked questions.

What is AID.plus?

AID.plus is an initiative from Hamburg, founded in 2015 by Viktor J. Nachbauer and Benjamin Gutmann. Originally a digital donation platform for rounding up when shopping online, AID.plus is now a recommendation site: instead of tipping, visitors donate directly to selected Hamburg organisations.

Does AID.plus accept donations itself?

No. AID.plus is not a donation account and receives no commission. Every link leads directly to the official donation page of the respective organisation, which also issues the donation receipt.

Which organisations does AID.plus recommend?

Eight organisations in Hamburg: Kinderhospiz Sternenbrücke, Fördergemeinschaft Kinderkrebs-Zentrum Hamburg, Hinz&Kunzt, the Diakonie Mitternachtsbus, Alimaus, GoBanyo, Hamburger Tafel and CaFée mit Herz. The focus areas are children, cancer research, people in need and the homeless.

How much has been donated so far?

By 2026, €68,780 had been donated, via the MIS Group, VIJO GmbH and privately. Individual donations range from a few hundred to several thousand euros.

Are donations to these organisations tax-deductible?

In Germany, generally yes, as special expenses for donations to charitable organisations. Up to €300, a bank statement is usually sufficient as proof; above that, the organisation issues a donation receipt. Rules differ in other countries; a tax advisor can help in individual cases.

Who is behind AID.plus?
